Legend of the Eagle-shooting Heroes

Interesting facts:

Yuan Hong stole Liu Shishi's first kiss (she has never dated before)....she almost cried because of it, but he went up to her and told her she can't cry because he doesn't want people to say that "Yuan Hong kissed a girl to tears." ...lol

Hu Ge's assisstant, Zhang Mian, died during the filming of this in a car accident.

Filming stopped for a year due to the accident. During it, Hu Ge almost quit (he thought about being a dubber...or a monk)

For this film, Hu Ge had to eat four meals a day to gain weight. He also had to get tanned.

Mainwhile, Ariel had to lose weight by only eating things boiled.

Yuan Hong and Hu Ge were roommates in college and are best friends.
Quote Hu Ge:
“Yep, same school, same dorm, same room, even the same bed.”

Yuan Hong, Hu Ge, and Liu Shishi (and Sun Li) are all under the same manager, Karen. They belong to the Shanghai Tangren company, the same company that made this drama.

When Yuan Hong signed the contract with Karen, he didn't bother to look at the contract. When Karen asked why not, Yuan Hong replied, "this is the same one as Hu Ge's, right?" What he didn't know was that Hu Ge didn't read his contract before signing it, neither...

Liu Shishi was a ballerina.

Hu Ge's nickname, given to him by Karen, is "Xiao bai," with the "bai" standing for "bai chi," or idiot, because Karen claims he has gotten into Guo Jing's character too much.

Several members of the cast (and the director) have worked together before in the Young Warriors of the Yang Clan. Yang Tiexin's actor was Hu Ge's father, Yang Ye. Here, Yang Tiexin's actor plays Yang Ye's great-great-grandson (I think). Yuan Hong played the enemies of the Yang's, but now is a descendent of the Yang's. Meanwhile, Liu Shishi played a wife of the Yang family, just as she does in this.

Scenes showing Yang Ye, Yang Qilang (Eddie Peng) and Yang Silang (Peter Ho) from Young Warriors can be seen when Yang Tiexin is talking to Yang Kang about their family.

On Ariel's birthday, Yuan Hong and Hu Ge went and set off fireworks for her.

Hua Zheng's actress, Xie Na, got temporarily blinded for a day while filming in the desert

Xie Na and Hu Ge once climbed a mountain in Tibet before and became good friends after that. (Once, he lost his sleeping bag, so Xie Na offered to share one with him...lol)

Script: The script was funny, and I liked how they cut some of the beginning out. but......... what happened to the "heroes" and part of the Legend of the Condor Heroes? It's a complete idol drama. They took out so much stuff that are important in the character development of the main characters and replaced them with the "Saga of the Yang family." Also, Ouyang Ke can't like Mu Nianci, because all the girls he has are just like her, and he doesn't care about them. A guy like him should love only a girl who has a mind of her own. And the Jing-rong brotherly love was a little over the top.

Huang Rong - she's cute, but too nice. Rong'er 's not suppose to be perfect, that's why she needed Guo Jing to complement her. LoCH should be a story of how she turned from a selfish brat to a hero through her love for Guo Jing, and this version doesn't show that. She's also not smart enough (I can't believe they took out the visit with the four generals of the king-monk...that would've shown her smartness). As for Ariel herself, I love her eyes! They are wonderful at showing emotion. Meanwhile, her face...needs to be less chubby for this role only.

Guo Jing - he's cute, too. And Hu Ge's really good-looking. XD But this version's Guo Jing is also a little lacking on the hero side. Guo Jing's not dumb, he's simple. He doesn't know clever tricks like Huang Rong, but he understand all the important things, like love, family, loyalty and duty. In this version, they don't complement each other that well.

Yang Kang - Yuan Hong is a very talented actor. He's good at portraying complex emotions. However, Yang Kang's too good in this version, making Guo Jing seem not as amazing.

Ouyang Kang - what in the world is wrong with you? You must've stolen someone else's brain because a) you are not trying to steal Yang Kang's spot as a prince, and b)you don't love people like Mu Nianci.

clothing - I liked this version's clothing infinitely better than the 2003 one. It's simpler and cuter. The only thing I didn't like was Guo Jing's Mongolian dreads.

Special effects - compared to the '03 version, it's bad. The ocean scenes were so fake. And the martial arts weren't choreographed nearly as well (Mu Nianci's ballet training showed through as well, her fighting's a lot prettier).

OST - the 03 version beginning song is my favorite. This one doesn't really seem heroic enough, but seemed rather bland. The insert song is really pretty. The ending's good, too. Yay, Hu Ge!
